There's a lot to feel good about.
Mixing the Against Me! live set from the Mean Fiddler in London a couple of weeks back, for their final Fat Wreck release. Damn they are a great live band. This show was just slamming. So glad I was able to get over to the UK and see the show in person - it was an all around great time, great hang with those guys and Murder By Death, and a real pleasure to meet Will Shapland, who brought the moblie truck and did the actual tracking. He and his assistants are such total pros and really nice folks ... two days in London is too short and also wreaks havoc on the internal clock, but it was well worth it.
Oh yeah and I stocked up on Marmite and Heinz Baked Beans.
I uploaded the first round of mixes for the band to check out from the road earlier today and I am waiting for word back to make tweaks. Tekmology, check it.
Cool things on the horizon: Pilot to Gunner comes in week after next to track for a few days, enabling me to repay the debt I owe them for all their work helping me get the Magpie Cage together while simultaneously recording one of my favorite bands; Mary Timony is coming in next Sunday to record a song for the DeSoto children's comp (I have already had a lot of fun recording Soccer Team, Georgie James and of course Channels - with guest singer/lyricist Damon Locks - for this comp that has been so long in the making); En Masse will be here at the end of the month for their EP, and Baltimore MVPs Two If By Sea are coming in May to record for a full-length on Silver Three.
Channels full-length mastering is done, Alan Douches has outdone himself, and Peter Quinn's artwork is not far behind, so the record is virtually (if not 100%) in the bag.
Spring is here.
And last but not least Tom Delay is finally OUT.
